Today the Peenemünde Museum is an international educational and cultural site. In addition to the temporary exhibitions, theater, dance, music, art and literature events are a fixed part of the overall concept.
One of the cultural highlights of recent years was the 2002 performance of Benjamin Britten's War Requiem in the former turbine hall of the power station. On this occasion the museum was awarded the Coventry Cross of Nails for its efforts toward reconciliation
and world peace.
